Flexion sponsors the 2025 Milken-Penn GSE Education Business Plan Competition Finals

Madison, WI — September 4, 2025 We’re proud to be sponsoring the 2025 Milken-Penn GSE Education Business Plan Competition Finals, hosted by Catalyst at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. The finalists are tackling big challenges in education, from expanding literacy through storytelling and creative writing, to supporting students with counseling and mentorship, to building safer and more equitable pathways to opportunity.

We’re looking forward to being in NYC on 9/11 to learn from the finalists, hear their pitches, and see how they respond to questions from the judges. It’s inspiring to watch new ideas take shape, and we’re excited to be part of celebrating their work.

We’re also excited that Flexion’s Shontá Bradford will serve as a judge this year. Since it started, the competition has awarded more than $2 million in cash and prizes, and past winners and finalists have gone on to raise more than $200 million in funding.

Why this matters to us

At Flexion, we want to help the EdTech space grow and succeed. Education has the power to help people at every stage of life build stability and improve their personal and financial well-being. That’s work we care about, and we’re grateful for our relationship with the Penn GSE Catalyst program for giving us a way to support it.

How flexion helps in custom edtech software development

We don’t just build software; we build tools that can actually move the needle for learners and educators. Our teams bring together adaptive software development, user-centered design, and deep cloud and AI expertise to create products that are practical, scalable, and effective. Here’s what that looks like in action:

  • Real results: Past projects have shown up to 5x learning gains while meeting strict equity and accessibility standards.
  • Modern tech, done right: We use cloud, AI/ML, and even XR when it makes sense, with a focus on responsible, bias-aware approaches.
  • Working side by side: Our “badgeless” teams embed with partners, helping them go from MVP to market and beyond.
  • Helping organizations scale: From startups and nonprofits to established EdTech providers and education agencies, we help teams prove what works and grow with confidence.

Looking ahead

We believe education is one of the strongest ways to create opportunity. Supporting innovators through the Milken-Penn GSE competition lines up with that belief, and it’s another way we can put our skills to work in a space that matters.

If you’d like to learn more about our EdTech capabilities or connect with our growing network of EdTech innovators and partners, we’d love to hear from you.
